Ecceasia: Activities for the Third and Final Year Kick Off in Japan
Starting September 14, restaurants and retail outlets in Tokyo and the surrounding area will be at the forefront of new initiatives dedicated to European extra virgin olive oil.
Tokyo, September 14, 2026 – Activities for the third and final year of Ecceasia kick off today in Japan. This three-year project is promoted by Unaprol – Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano and CAP – Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal under EU Regulation No. 1144/2014 to promote European Extra Virgin Olive Oil certified as DOP, IGP, and organic in Japan and Taiwan.
Under the slogan “More vitality to life,” the project continues the path undertaken in previous years with a new schedule of initiatives aimed at consumers, restaurateurs, and industry professionals. Starting today, European extra virgin olive oil will take center stage in activities dedicated to discovering the product and its characteristics at 10 restaurants and 4 retail locations in Tokyo and Ibaraki Prefecture.
The goal is to deepen understanding of European EVO through hands-on experiences and opportunities for interaction, highlighting its quality, versatility, and connection to Mediterranean culinary culture. At participating restaurants, these activities will allow customers to discover EVO through culinary offerings and tastings; at retail locations, initiatives focused on learning about and tasting the product will be organized.
Activities in Restaurants
Starting September 14, ten selected restaurants will serve certified European extra virgin olive oil.
