EnjoyEvoo: the second year of the European project dedicated to certified extra virgin olive oil continues in Japan: success for the training seminars, new events coming soon

The second year of EnjoyEvoo, the three-year project promoted by Unaprol – Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano and CAP – Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal, co-financed by the European Union under EU Regulation No. 1144/2014, to promote and enhance the value of European PDO, PGI and organic certified extra virgin olive oil in Japan and Taiwan.

The aim is to spread awareness and encourage informed consumption of certified EVO oil, highlighting its excellence, traceability and uniqueness within the European agri-food landscape.

One of the central pillars of the EnjoyEvoo project is to educate consumers and industry operators on the importance of certifications of origin, which are fundamental tools for guaranteeing authenticity, quality and sustainability. Understanding the meaning of acronyms such as PDO, PGI and Organic allows consumers to make informed and responsible choices, while supporting the production chain and the culture of the territory.

Between training and tasting

Between June and September, the first EnjoyEvoo training seminars were held in Japan, attracting large numbers of participants, including culinary students, consumers and enthusiasts. The meetings, divided into a theoretical phase dedicated to learning about the characteristics and certifications of European EVO oil and a guided tasting, offered participants a comprehensive experience of in-depth learning and discovery.

During the last event in September, the tasting was enhanced by a tailor-made menu, designed to highlight the organoleptic qualities of EVO oil through a selection of dishes created especially for the occasion.

Following the success of the June and September events, the EnjoyEvoo programme continues with new educational events designed to further strengthen knowledge and appreciation of European EVO oil:

  • Bell’Italia – Tokyo (26 October 2025)
  • La Mia Italia – Tokyo (8 November 2025)

Two new opportunities to discover the distinctive qualities of European certified extra virgin olive oil, learn how to taste it consciously and learn about its nutritional and sensory benefits.
