EnjoyEvoo: Successful promotional activities in Japan and Taiwan in the first year
The perfect combination of European quality and international taste
With the end of the first year of the project “EnjoyEvoo”, co-funded by the European Union, the Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Consortium (UNAPROL) and the Portuguese Agricultural Confederation (CAP) are celebrating the results achieved in the Japanese and Taiwanese markets. The campaign, which aims to promote European extra virgin olive oil as a symbol of quality, sustainability and tradition, has been a success beyond expectations.
Wide participation: some figures
The project proved to be highly attractive in Japan and Taiwan, involving a wide network of sales outlets and restaurants. In Japan, five sales outlets contributed 328 promotional days, while the enthusiasm of the 24 participating restaurants resulted in a total of over 600 promotional days, prompting them to extend the campaign in December. In Taiwan, 13 McDonald’s outlets in the cities of Taipei, Taoyuan, Tainan and Kaohsiung participated in the campaign, with a total of 143 promotional days. The program was further enriched by 12 Taiwanese restaurants, which added 140 days dedicated to European extra virgin olive oil.
The campaign was not limited to tastings: seminars played a key role in educating and engaging different audiences.Nicola Di Noia, Managing Director of Unaprol and Managing Director of the EvooSchool Italia Foundation, gave the opening speech via video, and university students, promising young restaurateurs, chefs, lecturers, food lovers and industry operators participated in the seminars. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of European extra virgin olive oil and explore its organoleptic and cultural characteristics. In Taiwan, universities such as Hungkuang University, Jinwen University and Shih Chien University also participated in the event, which shows that not only students and young chefs are increasingly interested in extra virgin olive oil.

The success of the first year is not only a starting point, but also a solid foundation for the continued development of the EnjoyEvoo project in the coming years. The positive feedback from consumers, traders and local partners is proof that the awareness and reputation of European extra virgin olive oil in the Asian market is constantly growing.
Building on the momentum gained, the project will continue to spread the value of this extraordinary food product, with the aim of consolidating and expanding the results achieved.
